Description

Navigate the tricky teenage phase with confidence in this focused one-off workshop, led by expert dog trainer Robin Bates. Adolescence can be a challenging time, with dogs often becoming more distracted, independent, and less responsive. This session is designed to help you understand these changes and guide your dog through them, so you can enjoy a calmer, more cooperative relationship. Using clear, reward-based techniques, you’ll learn how to stay consistent, build focus, and keep your dog engaged with you — even around distractions ✨

During the session, we’ll focus on: • Managing distracted or unreliable recall • Improving loose lead walking during this phase • Building impulse control and calmer decision-making • Working through common adolescent behaviours like boundary testing • Simple exercises to improve focus and engagement You’ll leave with practical tools you can use straight away to strengthen communication, consistency, and calm control in everyday situations.

The dogs will be trained using positive reinforcement ✔️ — never harsh methods. ❌ Spaces are limited, so please book through the website to secure your place. Once booked, you’ll receive an email with important information about what to bring on the night. We prefer that one person attends per dog (maximum two if necessary). ⚠️ If your dog is aggressive or highly reactive, they cannot attend this class (unless it’s specifically for reactive dogs). For these dogs, we recommend arranging a one-to-one session with our trainer instead.
