Description

Robin Bates Dog Training is delighted to announce that Kay Attwood of Kay9 Services, who was awarded KCAI Dog Trainer of the Year at Crufts 2019, is coming back to Northern Ireland to host her Cognitive Skills Workshop on Saturday 26th November 10am to 4pm (with a break for lunch) We’ll be concentrating on visual, audio, scent and sensual skills, to really stretch you and your dog's ability to work as a team and problem solve. There are many games that can be played using cognitive skills, using memory skills and much more! This workshop is for dogs over 8 months of age (due to brain development). Some targeting skills would be useful but not essential and each handler must be familiar with marking behaviour whether by clicker or verbally. You will bring your own dog. Places are limited in this workshop as each dog and handler needs a minimum space of 3 metres square to work (the larger the dog the larger the space it needs). There are also 6 places available for spectators without dogs at £40 per workshop so if you are interested, please email Robin directly (robin@robinbatesdogtraining.com)

Skills developed: • Unique match and sample using the part of the brain, responsible for problem solving • Learning new skills that help your dog in all manner of ways, whether behaviourally or general peace of mind • Improving your dog's cognitive abilities and stave off dementia This workshop is sure to be lots of fun for you and your dog

*As with all Robin Bates classes, all dogs will be trained using positive reinforcement and NO harsh methods. Attendees are reminded to bring their own food for lunch for themselves and their dog. Tea /coffee/water will be provided at break times at no additional cost. A list of what to bring on the day will be emailed to participants 2 days prior to the event.
